From what I remember having a teachers liscence wasn't always neccessary with NTM, being in the right place at the right time (or the wrong place at the wrong time, if you were at the end of the Board of Education) was often the only qualification one needed.
My own father who left school when he was 14 was a P.E. teacher at one stage and his impressive list of qualifications included: He owned a bicycle, he knew how to ride the bicycle and he had two legs.

I would beg to differ with you, Tambo Mk. While some were not qualified, it would not be appropriate to say that many were unqualified. This is a generalization that isn't really applicable. With all due respect.

so u are sayin'... all NTM teachers are real teachers? Like went to school and learned to be teachers? Have a teacher degree?

In a certain NTM place, once upon a time, John Doe wanted to work as a teacher or cleaning person, in exchange of his kid's attending that place... NTM asked for degrees of all sorts, certificate of being a good christian, with witnesses and all sort of stuff...

I just joined this forum, but have read every page. I did not know all these things were going on in my Alma Mater, Tambo. I think most of this abuse being discussed occured after I left, but there was one more name that could be added to the list of major abusers. However, it happened in the 1950's when the school was just getting started, and the perpetrator has been dead for many years. He molested several of the high school girls, raping at least one of them, and was never challenged or punished. He left the field, and left NTM, but went on to pastor a church. I was just a child when this happened but I was always afraid of him - but couldn't say why. I just did my best to stay out of his path.
Rumors were whispered - and squelched. Maybe he was asked to leave, I don't know. But it makes me sick to think he got away with it. I'm sure his victims will never speak up here as they would be in their 70's now. But I just communicated with a friend of the rape victim - and it is still very fresh in her mind. And I can still remember, very vividly, how much I hated to be around him, though he never actually did anything to me. These things just don't go away.
