Yes it's like something bad or disappointing happens and you are trying to work thru that and someone says, "God has a purpose in it, God works all things together for good" etc... These things are all true but does that mean we just go along like nothing has happened like we don't feel anything? Actually comments like this really annoy me because I think, "you think I don't know that? What, you think I'm stupid? Of course I know that but that's really not helping me at all right now in fact it just makes me feel condemned and oppressed". Yes in a way I believe it is a form of control where they just want you to shut up because you are making them feel uncomfortable. I think God is big enough to handle our honest emotional outbursts, our frustration and pain. We all process grief and pain differently there is no exact time period where you say OK it's 6 months or 6 years I can move on now. |
