You want Bible verses.
Do you have no compassion for the heart cries of people God loves
Who have been horribly and tragically abused
AS CHILDREN
by your co-workers?
Statistics would show that YOU have probably
Been abused by your leaders.
It's not just one or 2 here and there
Who have been abused as adult miss
Which would be bad enough----
Coming from those who are supposed to shepherd
Those under them----or guide and direct them
In a godly manner.
It's the NORM in ntm.
And some of you keep going back to another ministry

Please don't think you can hide behind Bible verses.

There comes a time when a Triber has to decide for himself. Do the crimes of ntm abusing children bother him/her enough to make a stand and voice concerns to the higher ups and then more than likely leave when not listened to.

The janitors in the Penn State incident chose to remain silent.... ultimately turning their heads and letting abuse continue which in my book is wrong and unjust. They continued their custodial work, receiving paychecks , while young men's lives were forever destroyed.

Unlike those janitors, I know of two families who left ntm. Realized it was wrong These families now serve independently as missionaries. I myself was accepted by another mission board. There are options. ntm is not the only missions agency.

It comes to a point where you decide am I going to remain with ntm and by my very presence condone the ongoing games ntm plays in dodging exposure and mistreating MK's. Or am I going to stand for truth and justice and voice my concerns and leave if nothing is done.

That is correct. We have removed the grey fence that too many sat on. There is no fence anymore. One is either strongly against child abuse and the cultures that it is thriving in, or one is condoning it by saying nothing.

How many more wake up calls does NTM need? What will they do when the next paedophile is caught or exposed, still pretend it is not really much of an issue?

I should clarify that my last post on this thread was more to the friends and acquaintances who don't write on this board, than to NTM missionaries. I haven't received any negative emails from NTM missionaries, and many kind emails. My family has been in NTM since the 1960's, before I was born, and we were at language school in Missouri for over a decade, so the number of NTM missionaries who know the McAlister family is high. I think Mom and Dad are pretty well-respected within New Tribes, so all emails from within NTM have been genuine and kind.

I should have made it more clear that was I really wish is that my own MK friends would post - that's who I would like to see the most on here.

But, anyway, moving on to more modern news --- Raz, I like what you just said. Is resignation considered dismissal then?

Perhaps someone can help me gain a different perspective than the one I currently have...

I get the distinct impression from the recent comments that if I, as an NTM missionary do not post on this forum, I am in sin. Or perhaps not in sin, but certainly stigmatized for not being visible on this forum.

I'd like to offer the possibility that just because I don't post doesn't mean I'm unaware. Or that I'm apathetic. Or that I'm not involved. Or that I'm fearful, or in denial, or ignorant, or ...

For those of you who are Christ-followers, I presume that you DO post because you believe that is what the Holy Spirit is leading you to do. I'd like to suggest the possibility that the Holy Spirit may not lead everyone to take the same actions in a given scenario.

Can you help me see it from your point of view, please?
