To help us define child sexual abuse, I am copying the definition and expanded definition from NTM's own Child Protection Manual:

"Child
abuse
is
the
treatment
of
 a
child
under
 the
age
of
18,
often
in
the
context
 of
a
relationship
of

responsibility,
 trust,
or
power
that
 endangers
or
impairs
the
health
 or
 welfare
 of
a
child.

SEXUAL
ABUSE
Child
sexual
 abuse
is
evidenced
 by
an
activity
between
 a
child
 and
an
adult
or
 another
child
 who
by
 age

or
development
is
in
a
relationship
 of
responsibility,
trust,
or
power,
the
activity
being
 intended
 to

gratify
or
satisfy
the
desires
 of
the
other
person.

 Sexual
abuse
includes,
but
is
not
 limited
to,
verbal,

visual,
 and/or
physical
 touch.

DETAILED
 DEFINITIONS
 OF
 SEXUAL
ABUSE

Verbal –
Remarks
 which
include
sexual
threats,
innuendoes,
comments
about
a
person’s
body,

solicitation,
inappropriate
 sexual
talking,
 obscene
phone
 calls,
 or
any
verbal
 expression
with
intent
to

arouse
or
 stimulate.
Visual
‐
Visual
sexual
abuse
also
includes, but
is
not
limited
 to,
 voyeurism,
indecent
exposure,
showing

or
 taking
 suggestive
pictures,
peeping,
exhibitionism,
showing
of
pornographic
 material,
showing
of

genitals,
or
 the
showing
 of
any
sexual
activity
such
 as
 masturbation
or
intercourse.
Physical
touching – Examples
 of
 such
activity
could
include:
 fondling,
 sexual
 touching,
masturbation
 in

front
of,
or
to,
 the
victim,
 rubbing,
holding,
and
kissing
for
the
purpose
of
sexual
 gratification.

Further

examples
include
oral,
 genital,
 anal,
and
breast
 stimulation;
penetration
by
penis,
fingers,
or
any
other

body
 part
or
object,
 of
mouth,
 anus,
or
 vagina;
 physical
contact
 with
a
person’s
clothed
 or
 unclothed

genitals,
 pubic
 area,
 buttocks,
or,
if
such
 person
 is
a
 female,
 breast,
with
the
intent
to
arouse
 or
 gratify

the
sexual
desire
of
either
party."

I'm sorry this gets pretty graphic, but

I am thinking maybe it would be good to clarify a definition, and NTM's own manual lays it out pretty clearly. There are many things people are capable of doing to or with a child that are abuse and molestation. Many things that might seem, in our memories, as "not really so bad". My thought is, if it made you uncomfortable, and you still think about it with negative feelings, then it was abuse.

The ones we were with did the same thing but to all babies to keep them quiet. They did it during meeting etc to calm the babies.

Ughhhhhh!
We were kind of warned as a family about the maids and what the culture was.
But it should have been a part of the general orientation.
What were people thinking???
.......They weren't?
