Mrs M, here is what I think:
If Larry Brown and his cohorts are so repentant and anxious to deal with all these past failures, why are we in a position to even have to think about a public protest? If NTM is so committed to being honest and open, why are they quiet? This is more compatible with a legal strategy to save the corporation further damage than it is to deal with the damage done to dozens (hundreds?) of MKs over decades - damage that is exacerbated by the foot dragging and silence.
Mrs M, NTM has basically admitted that they are not capable of handling these sorts of investigations on their own. From the way they have conducted themselves since the GRACE report came out, I wonder if they are even capable of carrying out its recommendations. Look at how their public statements have been all over the place! One week they make a statement that sounds like they are going to conduct future investigations themselves, then later say that everyone else misinterpreted it. They claim that they want to help the victims, but when victims ask for information they get nothing.
There is nothing wrong with knowing when a task is too big for you. I know that I would be hard pressed to do a better job than they have done. But, that doesn't mean they are doing a good job; it only means that I would also do a lousy job. Maybe they need to start out by stepping aside for an outside board of godly men and women who will act as caretakers until the abuse cases have been dealt with. That would not be a shame to them; and even if it were, at least things would get moving.
How hard can it be, for instance, to give That Girl notarized copies of the evidence she has requested - evidence that, according to NTM's correspondence with her, contains admissions of criminal acts by Les Emory?
I don't think any of that is going to happen easily. I think, as weird as it seems, that a public protest may actually help. I am disheartened to say it, but that is how it looks.
