Total crap! Utter and total crap!

Problem is because it is written and sounds official, many of us believe it, because we are conditioned to believe anything that sounds official!

No offence intended to the writer of this piece, probably heard it and believed it themselves. But to say that victims usually become abusers is a terrible injustice.

Let's call a spade a spade folks. Our NTM pasts taught us a lot of things, some of it good and a lot of it total rubbish. We need to get out of NTM blind acceptance mode and start thinking for ourselves. Throw out the crap, question the questionable and hold on to the good.

Question, question, question! Because if we just accept then the writer of this strange claim will have more chance of being right, history will repeat!

I too, had a very negative gut reaction to this absurd claim, just thrown out there on the front page of this website, by whoever this Janey Thompson is. "The abused usually become perpetrators" is just a terribly wrong and hurtful thing to say!!! She may never come here to the Forums to read our comments, but thank you, Bemused, for speaking up on the front page of Fanda Eagles. Perhaps she will see it there, and give some thought to the total inappropriateness and harmfulness of her statement.

Just shaking my head. And hoping this person knows better and doesn't really believe what it sounds like she believes.

Let's extrapilate this out. If we attach a value of 75% to the term "usually" and take what we know that most abusers have far more than one victim, then in only a few generations every person in the world would be an abuser. Especially when considering that many abusers victims are nearer to 100 than one, as per statistics.
