I wonder if this Harvey Weinstein scandal and all the women coming out about their abuse will spark courage among those abused in mission orgs?
I know the problem is $$$$ to do anything about it.
Not sure where to post this......

I've been thinking about this, especially since the massive amount of tweets with #metoo followed by #churchtoo. Perhaps the next iteration could be #mkstoo or #parachurchtoo?

I know it people like Dee Parsons or Julie Anne would retweet if they knew. But I know this is hard, to go public, and everyone has to make their own decision about that. But I think if any time exists where the voices of the abused could be heard, it would be now.

Thanks for this thought-provoking post, SkyeBlue.

I myself am not an MK abuse survivor. I cannot speak for those who are.

Maybe some of them will see this post and give your idea some thought.

Another place to consider posting would be on the Facebook page called Mission Watch, which is a public page.

In case this is of help to anyone here...
Posted today by GRACE on Twitter:
A new resource where abuse survivors can anonymously identify their abusers and be voluntarily connected to others who have abused by the same perpetrator. Together, they will be empowered to expose the perpetrator and/or report him/her to the police.

Thank you, SkyeBlue. I saw that too. I hope and pray this site catches hold and becomes a huge data base. If that were to happen, we might actually get some traction on either exposing abusers of MKs, or possibly even getting them arrested and prosecuted. In the case of the perp who preyed on multiple children in the Philippines, the missing link is to find someone he abused here in the US. That could open the door to his arrest and prosecution. Without that link, he is protected, because his overseas crimes were committed prior to the passing of the Protect Act. :(

I hope abuse survivors reading this will click on the link and enter their information on this site. I believe we can trust it, because it seems to have met with the approval of GRACE.

Someone who entered their information on the site yesterday assures me that they don't ask for a lot of information ... no details about the abuse or anything ... so please consider participating, so this data base can grow, and become helpful!

So much pain in these words.

A pain too many of us understand.
