The poignancy -- and the truth -- of this poem bring tears to my eyes.

You express this with such piercing grace, threewillows.

The losses that have been woven tightly into the life experience of so many New Tribes missionary families are incalculable. Everyone lost. Children. Parents. Other family members, even extended family.

And still Ethnos360 shrugs it off. Like it was no big deal.

IT WAS -- AND IS -- A BIG DEAL.

This post is so moving. I cannot express enough how grateful I am that I never ended up making the choice to send my son to boarding schools so I could be in missions. Every time a location would come up for a posting My son and I would discuss. in the end, by choice, we always remained together. I just went away for the weekend to Montreal. When we were arranging our accommodation there was a discussion of how many beds to rent. Because my son was planning on being out and about with his friends and mostly sleeping over with friends, I didn't really think he needed his own room. His response though made me laugh hysterically. "mom, you know this...I sleep on the floor on a mat; right next to you."
Because we have wandered the world over together hand in hand...
It is perfectly normal for us to simply crash wherever;
And my little chum, he rests on the mat on the floor next to my bed.
You're like a dog..I said
Giggling and laughing
I realized children need the love of their parents
And a warm embrace.
They need their parents
Just as much as a puppy needs his master.
I am intensely grateful for this love.
I shall not take it for granted.
I heard you Eagles...
Keep them close
Until they are truly ready
To fly on their own.


I won't leave him, no. He is worth all my effort. I am sorry for your loss. Love is so important.
I am taking a break from the forum. I needed time away to process and feel happy. I'm not done advocating though. For accountability, for truth for justice.

I am glad for you that you have kept your little chum close. He will feel safe and loved the rest of his life because of your wise choices.
