Thank you, Troubled. We have been following this story, and it seems to be following a predictable path. Ugh. I too, am very troubled. |

And this is exactly why ICE got it right when they arrested Scott Kennel and he was dealt with under U.S. law. Otherwise we would now be to a similar version of this scandal. It still staggers me that so called "men of God" who are in leadership, can stoop to the level that this case has. Where the person who has had the courage to speak out is turned on and those who have their fingers in the mess become heros. Meantime what of the children? Their welfare doesn't get a mention, just pawns in the powerplays and ego trips of the mighty. And it all sounds very familiar. |

P.S. does anyone know where Tom Randall is now? Or has he "disappeared" until this all blows over? |

As far as I know, Tom Randall is safe and secure in Ohio. He is on the staff of Christ Community Chapel, and the lead pastor, Joe Coffey, stands fully behind him. Ugh. |

And the children in the Philippines? Safe and secure? Life back to normal? Does any one care? |

Some of the children are back under Tom Randall's long-distance control. Others have avoided getting drawn back into his orbit. I believe some of them are being helped and protected by "The Whistleblower", the American missionary who was once Tom Randall's close friend and co-worker. I don't think Jake and Toto, the Filipino staff members accused of abuse, have direct contact with any of the children anymore. At least I certainly hope not. |

For those of you following the story of Tom Randall, abuse at his orphanage in the Philippines, and the scramble to protect him by his church in Ohio, a very interesting new blog post with some clear truth: http://michaelnewnham.com/?p=19454 |

Thanks Raz for the link. Someone has gone to considerable effort to prove this and it is much appreciated. I can't begin to comprehend why this lie has been told, is there so much arrogance that it is thought that no one will bother checking the claim? And to do it in a church, in front of what I presume would be a considerable audience, one of whom at least has videoed it! That is the ultimate in arrogance and/or stupidity. But then we've seen this over and over again. Men of the cloth (in whatever guise or denomination) assuming that their audiences are naïve and saying whatever lies they like. I started watching the link with the sermon, saw it was over 30 minutes long and after a few seconds turned it off. The written proof was enough, I've seen and heard it from many other sources and it's one of those days when the mood is a little darker than it should be. |
