This little guy knew all about you all--I would try to distract him during his dressing changes--the best way was with real stories of my family and friends. So Fanda Eagles, there's someone else in heaven looking after us all.

I definitely left out the sexual abuse stuff! But related it to his fireman causes and helping children . . .this kid had such a big heart . . .as he learned about other children with his disease, and met some of them . . .then he would hear of their deaths . . .so we started focusing on the here and now with him, building bird houses, painting, but then primarily, just resting. He was so tired . . .i think that overwhelming fatigue is one of the worst symptoms of any illness . . .
