If Bemused paddles 40 miles per day and his starting point is Auckland New Zealand, how long will it take him to paddle to Atlanta Georgia and how much food will he need to take? Please factor into your equation that the more food he takes the heavier his kayak will be and therefore this will affect his speed. Also factor in how many locks there are in the Panama Canal, possible oil spills in the Gulf of Texas and the rate of flood waters on the Mississippi.
