I would hope that any fund-raising could come out of a place of triumph, not pity. I have met MKs that are incredibly talented--some that have great depth artistically, some in financial fields. Lawyers, surgeons, politicians. Could we tap into that resource? How about an online auction ?

I am certain that MK Safety Net would be very pleased to hear from anyone who could help make the conference more affordable. Perhaps someone reading here will contact them. That would be awesome!

As for me, I don't know any wealthy MKs.

Come to think of it, now that I am no longer a missionary, I don't believe I have any wealthy friends at all.

That just kind of makes me smile.

Come to think of it, neither do I. But someone reading on here COULD be very wealthy, and feeling like they can't come to the conference because of their many important commitments, and then want to PM Allbetter with an offer for her to recuperate from her stressful life and traumatic childhood at their seaside vacation home . . .then I can get on here, maybe on the tail-end of the second week, and muse about nature, sea animals, wine/cheese combinations

After the fourth week, I'd let them know that Raz could really use some recuperation . . .
