Wow. I have no doubt that that Canadian missionary and his family continue to be grateful for the presence of the TRUE Good Samaritan on that day so long ago.

And I am grateful for reminders from time to time that true compassion and selflessness do still exist in this uncertain world. But I don't look in the fundamentalist world for that evidence.

I think Jesus would understand our perspective. I think it is similar to the one he had 2000 years ago.

That was a horrifying story.
No excuses for those who ignored such a serious situation.
Fortunately, we saw our miss co-workers reach out and we reached out to them.
But other inexcusable things happened too!

The stories of your family and your past make me very sad, Bemused. It is a great credit to you that from an early age, you saw through the fake piety, and today you can hold your head high because you are an exceptional human being, in spite of the past.
