You never know a person until
You know them......

We should have performed it at the last conference.
But we were there too short a time to organize it.

I think I must be the eternal optimist
For I’ve seen more than my fair share of shit
But I shovelled it round my roses
And it’s proved quite a hit

My roses are fantastic
They smell far better than you know what
And if thee wander past my humble house
Pop in to see what’s in my garden plot

Oh and my pumpkins and tomatoes
Are huge this time of year
So stay for supper and eat fresh vege
And pour yourself a wine or beer

Roger that Romeo Alpha Zulu. You are cleared to land on runway 007. The sky is clear, with just a gentle warm breeze from the north. The wine is an excellent vintage this year and the fatted calf will be joining you in a most edible style. Feel free to taxi up to the hangar where the freshly washed and ironed red carpet awaits. Your baggage will be transfered to your room, where you can relax after your flight before joining your hosts on the veranda overlooking the magnificent vista you will see as you descend for landing. Alas the "We Welcome You" song is not known by the local welcoming band, so they will be playing a selection of hits from decades past, we hope this meets with your approval.

I’ve been talking to my teddy bear
About the childhood stuff
We grew up together
So he’s seen the good and the rough

Not that he says much
He’s the strong silent type
He doesn’t get to emotional
Or overdo the hype

And I know that what I tell him
He’ll never tell a soul
And doesn’t judge me for being 53
A little unhinged and not quite whole

I tell him about the folk I meet
I’m sure he laughs deep down
And he listens to my awful jokes
Without trying to leave town

I’ve noticed he’s looking tired of late
So I asked him was life getting tough
And he replied “Oh I’m just getting old my friend
And I’m still full of the same old stuff”
