I looked at Ted
And Ted was down
Where usually there was a smile
I saw a frown

“Ted” I said
“What’s wrong with thee
Have you been hurt
Was it me?"

“I’ve been told”
He did reply
“I must be saved
And to myself must die”

“I must be washed in blood
Which would make me red
And then I’d have to
Be under the bed”

“Then I’d be
As white as snow
But from my brown
I don’t wish to go”

“Who told you this”
I asked of poor sad Ted
“Some folk” he replied
“Who wanted you, but got me instead”

“Oh” I said
“It’s some folk from my distant past
They wish to convert me
And badness from me cast”

“But you’re not bad”
He smiled and said
And blow me down
I replied “Bless you Ted”

I dreamt I saw ten leaders
Of a Mission I knew long ago
They debated what to do about MKs
And the debate went to and fro

For many MKs had accounts
Of abuse deep and sore
And these were just the tip
Of an iceberg that hid many more

The first leader spoke of forgiveness
And how the mission field was tough
That a child abuser must be forgiven
Because life for him was tough

The second said he’d heard
Some victims were gay, not straight
So they were an abomination
For God’s word said, these MKs one must hate

The third agreed whole heartedly
And said we must condemn this sin
Then added that some MKs
Had different colored skin

The fourth spoke about skin color
And that not all MKs were the same
His own were without blemish
Protected from the perverts game

The fifth spoke about “the work”
And how in God’s name it must be done
So what if a few MKs got a little hurt
While Uncle served and had a little fun

The sixth was in charge of finance
So he moved that lawyers be called in
For mites must be protected at all costs
And be only for kith and kin

The seventh labelled the hurt
Bitterspirits and Backslidden from the cause
And condemned them to hell
Both for eternity and here on earth

The eighth was paying little attention
He’d just gathered for the feast
MKs and their broken families
Were to him a concern the very least

The ninth looked at his watch
For there was a game soon on tv
And so he agreed with one to nine
Just wishing he was free

The tenth asked where was the compassion
Such lack of care gave rise to doubt
At which point the mission men
Picked him up and threw him out

All Things Bright and Beautiful, or maybe not quite.

All things weird and wonderful
My God, I saw it all
Not so bright and beautiful
Much of it did appall

A Mission that practised hatred
Based on the color of ones skin
A childhood caught up in such nonsense
To tell it, where would I begin

A family that disowned me
And called themselves persecuted Paul

Years of seeking answers
From the secret pasts vault
And finally figuring out it was
Just another DAMNED CULT

All things weird and wonderful
My God, I saw it all
Why did my parents join it
Why did they heed "the call"

But through it all, I now live
And good friends I have made
God bless my dear dear wife
Who this troubled soul will often aid

All things weird and wonderful
My God, I survived it all
I know I told the truth, no less
So I can walk upright and tall

I hear my cycle callling
There lies a life beyond NTM
So I take my leave my friends
Till in the future we meet again

Such a great poem to read, at the end of what has been a busy day for me.

To wrestle the strength of will
To face the facts as I see them.

More than a few sunsets,
Surrounded in pain;

That's why Jesus came you see;
That through belief and repentance all
Would be free.
How can there be belief without repentance
Without repentance, oh belief..
What do you think happened to that other wretch?
The one who chose not to repent
On the great day of our saviours death.

My final thought on the matter;
Became ruthlessly apparent.
If this were only about you
A O unrepentant,
Could I simply walk away?

I railed upon the Lord;
Oh seen, and unsee-able;
What is it you want?
What good can come of this?

Peace,

I want peace in the hearts and minds
Of all my children.

It's really about lesson one.
Believe, repent, accept forgiveness.
Without this there is no Love.
