I know of quite a few folks who care about you.
So much that they refrain from hugs.

I've always been to reserved to tell someone I care about them, apart from the lovely Mrs Bemused. I grew up with people who told me they loved me and cared for me and that they would love me and care for me even more if I just thought like they did.
Which is like me saying to a patient, "I'll care for you because that is my job, but if you give up that disgusting smoking habit, I'll care for you even more". I don't like my patients smoking, but it shouldn't stop me caring for them as much as a non smoker. My smoking patients know the consequences of their habit and it is their choice to take that risk, my responsibility is to care for them, no matter what their personal choice.
