This is a very important month.

As a Sympathetic Agnostic, can I have doubts about your wonderings and sympathy for your frustration?

All doubts and all sympathy are gladly accepted!

Something I am learning, through the pain of a friend:

Verification without validation is very hurtful.

Investigation without castigation just deepens the wounds.

My fear is that if, in the end, victims know they have been believed, and still they see no significant consequences to their abusers or those who enabled and covered for the abusers, everything we have been so invested in here will be for naught.

I think the feeling is kind of like a child getting up the courage to confront the mean, neighborhood bully about killing her pet rabbit.

And having him sneer at her and say, "Yeah, I did it. So what??"

The sense of futility and impotence is staggering.

The MKSafetyNet conference seems to have some really practical sessions.
And round table discussions afterwards to plan action.
