And now for some excellent news from New Zealand:

The Kiwi is our much loved and adored bird, much like the Bald Eagle is for our friends up North. Now we have proved that it is not related to the Australian Emu, but a Madagascan Elephant Bird that has been extinct for a long time.
This is exceedingly good news for New Zealanders, who as I'm sure our learned friends all know affectionately are known as Kiwis.

I shall be soon conducting DNA testing on Kiwi missionaries to prove that they are not related to NTM Australia but in fact are close relatives of NTM USA. Proving this will bring tremendous joy and relief to Kiwi missionaries (and probably astonishment to Larry and the EC). Now all as I need are a couple of volunteers to donate DNA specimens

Just to clarify. Our good friends in Australia call a BBQ a Barby. This can be a little confusing when they say "Throw another banger (sausage) on the Barby, mate", for although Kiwis do speak reasonable Australian, it must be a complete mystery to those not familiar with this strange version of the English language.
I just thought I'd mention this, because down here, Barby is not married to Ken and throwing sausages at dolls would be a very strange thing to do.

Also, gas is something that one passes after eating to many baked beans. Putting gas in ones vehicle is frowned upon down here, for obvious reasons.

Well it gets things moving. I can hear "bowels" of laughter on the wind.

Everyone back from their holidays? Yes good to hear that summer has started. Spare a thought for those of us who are approaching the shortest day, when the sun is but a distant memory as it transverses the northern sky.
Yes we are living in darkness down here.
Oops I can hear a Kodiak circling, little parachutes are opening, glistening white in the moonlight. Wonder who it is? Is someone going to bring a bit of light to the darkness?
