Panama Investigation Launched

The Independent Historical Abuse Response Team (IHART) has named its third investigative team. This team will investigate historic reports of child abuse at NTM’s school in Panama.

A six-member team of investigators will be led and supervised by Robert Davis, a 35-year veteran of the FBI who retired as the supervisor of the FBI’s operations in all of northern Idaho. Robert has extensive experience in a wide variety of investigative specialties including all phases of child safety investigations and currently is a contractor for a world-wide, faith-based security firm as well as assisting with safety and security for the Salvation Army Kroc Center of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

As case manager and lead investigator he will be assisted by a team of six carefully selected, multi-talented, individuals who bring diversity and a wealth of experience, and who have been specifically trained for this assignment. The team members are:

Linda Davis: Linda is the CEO of a successful marketing firm and skilled corporate trainer. She has a wealth of experience in the field of child development and is an accomplished interviewer.

Matthew Davis: Matthew is a department director for a faith-based community center with membership of nearly 20,000, which is a leader in its field in child protection. Matthew is a skilled interviewer and personnel manager with a long history of working with youth, including troubled youth.

Anne Kulinsky: Anne is a veteran education specialist with decades of experience in the physical and virtual classroom, including workplace-based education, distance learning, curriculum development, grant review, community liaison, and corrections education.

Aaron Porter: Aaron is an accomplished financial planner who is currently in final hiring status with a premier law enforcement agency. He is an accomplished leader and has a long history of working with youth.

Larry Schwenke: Larry has a distinguished career in public education and athletics with an outstanding reputation for mediation and problem solving. He has spent his life working with, teaching, and counseling youth.

Ron Stice: Ron is an educator and business professional who also works with troubled youth and the disabled as a psycho-social rehabilitation specialist.

All of the investigators have received training and orientation to best practice standards including procedures, policies and protocols of child abuse investigations, and have been fully evaluated by Professional Investigators International and by the Independent Historical Abuse Review Team.

This team is larger than other teams in hopes that the size of the team will reduce the length of the investigation.

In order to gather all information pertinent to this investigation, anyone with information is encouraged to contact lead investigator Robert Davis: p.i.i.83814@gmail.com or 208-659-8781. All contacts will be treated confidentially and pursued thoroughly and professionally. If you have any questions or reports in regard to Panama or any other NTM-related schools, please contact Pat Hendrix at pat.mkguardian@gmail.com.

I do not understand why Pat Hendrix (or Tibby Westcott) can't post directly regarding updates. Another link?

I understand that people wish to be helpful, however, it seems a little disrespectful that the forums (where the widest MK audience exists) are an after thought only being updated through a trickle down theory.

Any updates on any investigations (barring any sensitive matter) should be posted directly from iHart.

My dos centavos.

Agreed. Agreed.
It is most irregular.
And not respectful.

Yes, but with an explanatory note. I emailed the questions to Tibby personally and offered the right of reply, suggesting that the reply go on this forum. It came back to me and in my limited wisdom I thought it best I put the answers (unedited) up for all to see.
I remain the humble messenger, with the habit of asking questions ;) .

I apologize for the confusion. I am speaking of the regular (or not so regular updates) from iHart or NTM not personal emails with Information at someone graciously shares with the forum.

"To my knowledge a summary and the recommendations will be posted on the NTM website.
Tibby"

During the course of my involvement in this effort to give MK abuse survivors a voice and some validation and vindication, I find myself on a roller coaster ride of emotions.

Over and over I have gotten my hopes up, only to be frustrated and disappointed. Often this has happened because of my own expectations not matching up with actual results received from NTM and others.

In this e-mail from Tibby to Bemused, I find the above sentence worthy of my attention.

To Tibby's knowledge, at this point in time, when all is said and done, when all these people on these various independent investigations teams have finished their months or years of tedious work, the end result that people like myself will be shown will boil down to this: a summary and recommendations that are posted on the NTM website.

It is important that we understand this now, so we don't beat our heads against the wall in frustration later. It is unrealistic to expect a long document like the GRACE report on Fanda. If such a document is produced, it doesn't look like we will be privy to it.

I am deeply disappointed that this is all I am probably going to see, at the end of the process of IHART's investigation of Vianopolis, then Bolivia, then Panama and beyond. A summary and recommendations that will be posted on NTM's own website. But this does help to guide my expectations ahead of time, if I know now that this is likely the only end product I will see.

So I think it is good that Tibby has already told us ahead of time what to expect.

These are my own reflections, after reading Tibby's e-mail to Bemused several times. This roller coaster ride feels like it's lasted forever. My head is spinning and I'm getting weary. Maybe if my coaster car doesn't rise so high, the drop back down won't be so low, and my queasy stomach will settle a bit.

My aim in this roller coaster ride, is to get those that committed sexual crimes behind bars. They deserve nothing less, for their legacy is many broken damaged MKs, some who will sadly never function as normal adults. Those that covered up such crimes need to be looked at by people with more expertise than myself and made to answer as is fit in each individual situation.

Credit where credit is due, Tibby gave an answer to those four questions. Whether one agrees with the answers or not, they can now be debated in a forum such as this.

I'm one of the lucky ones, my roller coaster ride has become a lot smoother by being able to get to know others with similar experience. It has also been enormously helped by at last being able to deal with the one person who has made my ride hell for the last 40 years or so. Now I feel that I'm in the fortunate position of being able to help others who are struggling with their ride (while I wait to hear the closing of prison doors).

So if you are struggling on your roller coaster ride, I'm the MK in car 007, with the stereo going loudly, an awful sense of humour and a couple of vacant seats, which you are welcome to have for as long as you need. Never know, might make the ride a bit more bearable. I also have a lovely range of travel sickness bags, which if you are unfortunate enough to use, make excellent water bombs.

Okay, Bemused 007, you've got me laughing again.

I'm so glad you made your way to this crazy carnival ride! It's good to have you on board.
