"The investigation that started this thread in the first place has ground to a complete halt. SIM lined up a team of independent investigators, but in the end their terms weren't acceptable to the victim. For example it came to light that they were going to have him sign a non-disclosure agreement at the interview. Also they never did say who was going to get the results of their investigation - whether they would be handed over to SIM directly and whether he would have access to the report. That question was never answered. So, the case was dropped and EVEN THOUGH THE PERPETRATOR ACTUALLY CONFESSED to hurting the victim, SIM has been more than happy to just end the investigation. Perp is still employed by SIM.

I have to wonder, if an abuser wants to confess and make it right with the victim, why would the mission advise them to keep quiet? I believe that is what happened in this case. Answer - it would bring to light the fact that one of their employees and dorm staff abused children, and they would not be able to control the flow of information.

All I have to say is, no matter what kind of shining credentials the "investigative team" has, any victim going into an investigation should have their own solid, professional support system lined up from the start. A trauma therapist, a lawyer who is on your side, who can act as your advocate, because the investigative team is not your advocate - at the best they are an impartial team, and at the worst they are on the side of the mission who is paying their bill."

This sounds like good advice to consider, for NTM MKs considering entering into the investigation process with IHART.

I just can't help but think we are looking down the barrel of the same gun.
There are to many skeletons in closets with determined people making sure that their closet doesn't have a key to open it. We are being asked to tell our stories to people we are not sure we can trust, who might do goodness knows what with the information, possibly pass it on to the organisation that seems to be paying for all this. Then what happens, we've just shot ourselves in the foot. And is any of this going to see one paedophile behind bars, I doubt it.
Good advice to take along a lawyer and a trauma specialist. Personally I don't need the latter and I can't afford the former, not on the pesos that I earn. I don't need a lawyer to help me tell the truth, but I might need one because the investigators might be acting dishonourably with what I might tell them. I really am looking down the barrel of what sounds like the SIM gun.

Hey Mosquitoe Bite, where are you? We're all down here enjoying the sunshine, excellent wines, devine food, superb hospitality. The BBQ is going on the beach and the hammocks are out. Even Red Barren has flown in, pity about the landing, but we'll patch up his old crate shortly.
Gotta go, gourmet sausages need turning and the steaks are almost done.

Information and interviews are still being gathered in the investigation of historical abuse at Vianopolis school in Brazil.
Investigators are reviewing historical and general information from Vianopolis school and field records. The team is continuing to conduct follow-up interviews with identified survivors and those wishing to provide information to the team.

We welcome any mode of transport, except broomsticks.

No landing gear. I just SLIDE in. Very smooth every time.
I will be giving rides around the countryside for the guests, so will just come straight there.
I could eat steak 3x a day.
