Bemused, I like the "Fallen Hero." Reminds me of a situation I am involved with. This missionary abused 3 sisters from a family they were "best friends" with. It stayed in the dark many years but is now well and truly out in the open. The mum wrote a letter to the mission board and said she did not want this missionary to go down as a "hero of the faith." Full stop.

I have not posted here in a long time, but I still read this forum almost everyday. (Just a reminder - I am not a MK. I was a missionary with NTM for a few years. We resigned 2 years ago after experiencing some spiritually abusive stuff from leadership.) I am on a post-NTM journey too. This forum has been part of that journey and I am thankful for it!

I just came across this open letter from a pastor to Tom White's victim. I am wondering what you think about it. Good? Bad? Some of both?

My humble opinion after having a quick read is that it addresses some good issues with compassion and caring. To have taken the time to put into words ones feelings is definitely commendable and to maintain confidentiality of the victims details is the correct path.
If I was in the victims shoes, I'd be pleased that someone had taken the time and effort to write such.

Who else has focused on this victim with care and compassion?
This is very commendable and brings up important points.

I only heard of one man who wrote about the NTM abuse in the light of their sin and crimes.

Just to clarify, folks. I have already stated my position on justice in and by the legal system. I am just for going a step further appealing to a divine intervention.
