I think a turkey will vote for Christmas quicker than NTM will take care of their sin in the camp, past and present sins and I dare say future sins as well. You see they have time on their hands, they feel in time all this will just go away and the victims will just have to stay victims. They will just keep on keeping on like always. Money is the ONLY thing that might possible humble them. That is the only fear they have, that is MONEY leaving their hands. These lawsuits might be the only thing that will help this situation. Full stop.

You are right on the mark, Gene.

I do want to add that the NTMers (and perpetual attitudes) who have had their heads in the sand for the past 40 years do not suddenly want to be confronted with this. It is possible that the "grace period" (pun intended) has run out and tolerance for those MK's is very low or non-existent. I know that many NTMers are questioned quite frequently about the abuse while they attend their Sunday services and other normal weekly activities. I can imagine, with no end in sight, the NTMers are seeing their lives constantly consumed by this elephant in the room.

In the words of Ms. Hess - NTM is "paying for the investigation." It only stands to reason that they should since they did not contact the proper authorities at the time and everyone's tax dollars would have paid for an investigation then. I'm a little confused at the reference of NTMers paying for it in the real sense of dollars and cents. NTMer's don't get a salary. It is a not-for-profit surviving by the whim of churchs' and individuals' donations. That's a bit like someone on welfare and food stamps saying they are tired of paying for food, shelter, etc.

P.S. MK's are paying for it. Most with their lives, or at least in trying to live a healthy, normal life. Some, as memorialized on this forum, have paid the ultimate price, literally.

Tuti - you hope it will be 20% or less? God, help us all.

NTM, if NTM employees are having to pay for the abuse investigations and other abuse related items, I recommend an update to your financial donation web-page which tells donors that 100% of donations to a particular missionary go to fund the ministry of that missionary. I know the term "ministry" is very broad, but let's be a little more honest lest we be turned to a pillar of salt.
