Perseverance is not done all at once.

Many of the worlds best comedians had terrible childhoods or trauma in their lives. Think of Billy Connerly, Spike Milligan and Rowan Atkinson. Yet they make us laugh.
The world would be a sadder place without comedians, so their pain has become our gain. The "abused club" is not one I wanted to be in, but that's what life dealt me courtesy of NTM. I would happily trade what happened for a normal boring ordinary life, now it is up to me to get over it and get on with life, no one else.
Someone said that NTM won't take us seriously if we use humour. But they don't seem to be taking us seriously anyway (a few exceptions noted), life is just going on as normal and we are an inconvenience that they pray fervently will go away.
Some of the humour on this site is up with the best of comedians and I doubt any script writers and editors were assisting. We don't even have to pay for it. And if it offends, we can go find another site, or write to NTM and apologise for the irreverance.
I wouldn't wish abuse on anyone, but if it happened to you and out of it you got through the pain and found a way to make others laugh, then thank God you did. It sure as hell beats sitting around bottling up your anger, feeling sorry for yourself and taking little white tablets that your shrink prescribes because you can't deal with it all!

Oh and while I'm ranting and raving. Anyone notice that the three comedians on this site are male. Men who actually have guts enough to confront other men for the evil they have done and don't slink off and leave it for us women to sort out. Boys, whoever you are and wherever you come from, you are truly worthy of being called REAL MEN! I don't think much of men who don't have the courage to stand up for what is right, who let someone else do it because they can't be bothered, or who crap all over someone elses life and then hide behind some pathetic orgainisation. What this modern world needs is men like the pioneers of old who aren't scarred to face the unknown. What NTM needs is REAL MEN.

A man who speaks about his feelings is a rare commodity. Face it girls, our men are generally hopeless at this sort of thing and we are good at it. So we are blessed to have some REAL MEN who are not afraid to look at their own journeys and put their feelings on line!

Speaking of Real Men. How much was real anyway? Didn't many of us MKs learn to act in ways that were not who we really were, just to keep from being beat or "personally ministered to". We learned to fake sincereity, humility e.t.c. and our parents were doing the same. There became the public and private personna. The public personna was the visible side that espoused the philosophy passed down and the private personna often got lost after a period of time. So that after our informative years, many of us didn't know who we really were or where we fitted into real society anymore.
For some of us the role models we had around us were criminals and yet we didn't know much of it at the time, because they portrayed themselves as good godly men/women, to be looked up to and admired.
It was all a culture along time ago and far away, but its effects have been profound.
