I think the point Bemused is making and it is a good one, think outside the box. Not sure what it is like for sex offenders who prey on children in other countries, but here they are the lowest of the low and if they end up in your neighbourhood after their time in jail, they are made aware in no uncertain terms to keep moving. That is why we have a sex offenders register that is publicly available.
If you are happy to have paedophiles living next to you, do nothing. If the thought makes you sick, then be a good citizen, get proactive and make life uncomfortable for these criminals. Imagine if a sex offender was living next to you and your young family, something happened to one of your kids and you found out there were people who knew, but couldn't be bothered doing anything about it !
