MK Safety Net Canada is inviting us to participate in the Green Dot program, which is being used effectively in many places to provide a safer environment. The letter linked here explains a webinar you can participate in, if you would like to learn more about this excellent program.

In Kiwiland we have "white ribbon" as the symbol against domestic violence. The last couple of weeks has seen an emphasis on child abuse in the media, with the major newspapers website publishing stories related to the topic.
I submitted an account of part of my story and ended up speaking to a most interested journalist. It was published, with a link to the Scott Kennell saga.

Alas, like most other places in the world, domestic violence and child abuse rates are far to high, but the national average is far below the historic NTM average in many fields.

O.k. all guns blazing now.

We need to back those who dare to stick their heads out and bring the worlds attention to the scourge of abuse.

It's not just the Canadians battle or Bemused's campaign way down there, this is all of our battles. And when someone gets their efforts recognized we need to back them up, otherwise we are just the "when good men/women say nothing, evil prevails" silent majority.

Of course not all of us are eloquent, but none of us are illiterate! Forget useless facebook likes, put fingers to keyboard, e-mail more editors.

We owe it to the kids of the future, who we don't want to grow up like we did! And if we stop just one case of abuse each, we have saved a child.
