Alas I suspect the answer is "no one" and the abuse will continue. There will be assurances that whatever happened in the past will never happen again, because of new policies and procedures, but as some of us suspected and were proved right with the Scott Kennell arrest, this won't work.

We care enough to do something about this because we have consciences and personal involvement. We give of our time and effort freely so that children of today can have a brighter future and not know the horrors of the past.

Wow .... very informative, and terribly sad. The world is full of predatory monsters who are getting away with it.

Yes, and look how this guy operated and where. He deliberately sought out an area where he would not be discovered and his wealth would ensure he had control over the situation.
It's a very good insight into the mind of a classic paedophile and well worth a read.

The world is now less one monster and for that I am very grateful.

Like many NTM MKs, Mr Kennell spent his childhood in a foreign country, and as an adult, he stayed in the NTM system, first as a trainee, and then as a missionary.

No questions asked. At least not questions like, "Are you psychologically stable? Do you need help? Do you struggle with any addictions or unhealthy coping skills?"

We MKs knew all the right answers. We knew which page to turn to in Songs of Challenge. We knew the Great Commission verses by heart. We knew the names of all the members of the Executive Committee. We knew the words to "We Welcome You".

So we were in, man. We were safe. Compliant. Keepers of secrets. Accustomed to wearing the mask.

Yes, the mission loved to brag about how many of us MKs were "back in the work".

People like me.
