What a poem Bemused! So true. I am always thrilled when I hear of an MK who has found a loving spouse.

I pray too for the MK"s who do not have one. May God bring people into their lives who listen and care and watch their back!

Mrs Bemused is very tolerant of the errant and befuddled Bemused.

We all drag various loads of baggage into our relationships, but I suspect an NTM MK probably has more than average and if one is an MK from certain fields and eras, then it can be an enormous amount of baggage. And alas it is not always possible to get rid of it before finding Prince/Princess Charming and living "happily ever after".

For me it was the duplicity of the whole experience:

We went to spread the message of a loving God, yet we were taught intolerance.
We were told over and over to abstain from sexual contact, yet look what was going on with those who preached.
We were told that Jesus loved children, yet we were beat, abused, psychologically tortured . . .
We were told families were most important and yet many of us have no contact with our families or have been disowned.

It made little sense then and it makes no sense now. We were just innocent kids who had our lives screwed up with unrepentant adults on some sort of strange ego journey of their own, that led them down paths of strange control and abuse.

What of the offenders children
How do they fare
Does the past haunt them
Causing anguish and despair

Does the relative monster
Their strings still pull
Is all escape cut off
By the wolf covered in wool

Do they know what is normal
Or is the weird seem true
Years of being "loved"
Not as most people do

Do they carry a cross
Of guilt and shame
Wondering what was real
And what a very sick game

Are they caught in the web
Of deceit and lies
Like father like son
Not hearing others cries

Is history repeating
Or does bravery call
And a stand taken
Able to walk tall

What of the victims
Who carry the ultimate shame
Are they free of the guilt
Or just repeating the game

The children of sexual abusers were more than likely sexually abused themselves and the cycle has a good chance of being repeated. What has NTM done about this, my guess is absolutely nothing!!!!!!!!!!!
Tribers have abdicated common sense and free thought to a small group of middle aged or older white men, who tell them what to think, do and say.
Look at the shocking history of abuse, look at what has been done to help victims and then try and tell me this is not a sadistic cult that has sucked far to many good people in and rendered them into sycophantic puppets who's strings are being pulled. The naïve will parrot the same old mantras that this is now a different organisation and the mistakes of the past will never be repeated. Complete rubbish, the past mess is still not being sorted out properly, there is no genuine concern for the many victims, the only concern is for the continuation as business as usual!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When NTM starts reaching out to ALL the MKs who were went through their schools, to find out if they survived, then I will change my opinion. Until then, NTM remains a devious, self serving, uncaring Cult!!!!

Think we might be waiting for a long time for NTM to reach out to all MKs, once over with a quick feather duster is about it. It's not that hard to find many MKs these day with modern technology.

But then NTM seems to have a lot of missionaries who can't remember where they were and when they were where they can't remember. Add in all the Tribers who ended up in New Zealand according to the website, because someone though New Guinea was New Zealand, and that families can't even find each other sometimes, it is not looking at all hopeful.

In the meantime we plod along on this interesting journey.

Surreal.
Bizarre.
Exasperating.
Hopeless.
Depressing.
Impossible.

A journey with no clear destination, no road map, no clear precedent.

Sometimes I feel I am trying to be a supportive advocate for people who do not need or want my help.

Discouraged, confused and uncertain.

Want more? I could say more, but I think those are enough.

Oh no, this is not good my dear Raz,

I have no idea where this little journey of mine is going, but when I look back and see where I was, it's actually going to a much better place than where I came from.
Oh I'll probably never make any sense of NTM and certainly of my father, but I'm much more at peace because the past is much clearer. I know it is not me who is acting bizarrely or hiding my past deeds. Of course I wish that I hadn't had to reach this point via the route I did, but I was a child and none of this nonsense was my decision.
When the journey gets to much or too depressing, forget the craziness and think of those who you have met on the journey who you never would have otherwise and are privileged to have you as the good friend that you are.

And in case of an emergency, break the glass and have a Bemused CyberHug :D .
