@fight4justice- I understand what you said and I agree. Hopefully going forward this is what NTM and MNTB will do. I don't know that there's anything they can do about past abusers from Via though. Frank Parker has died already and in the case with my uncle, too much time has gone by for us to do anything legally in Brazil, which is where he lives. If the mission were to approach authorities with his past abuse, well, they can't do that because too much time has gone by since the abuse. I think it's 8 yrs or something in which the abuse needs to have been reported to authorities. But I completely agree with what you said and in my situation I'm doing whatever I can to make things happen as they should after such a crime was committed. Continue the fight. |

I just responded to MNTB's letter and gave them specific examples of how things should have been handled differently in the Armour case. I realize Via may be closing down but hopefully this will help the mission in making new policies and protocols that will be helpful in the future. I appreciate MNTB's effort. So much of the leadership and staff is different now so they are really having to clean up a lot of mess done by others. But the mission as a whole does need to change. |
