Thanks for posting the letter from Boz. I hadn't seen that yet either. This is encouraging. I pray NTM will keep dealing with the abuse cases from all the fields in this way.

The local news should be alerted to what went down though. How does the sheriff expect more churches and institutions to come forward like that if he does not get in front of everyone and praise NTM for it? So many churches still think that it is "ungodly" to take these matters (even though they are crimes) to law enforcement. Maybe they are just lacking a Godly example, which is exactly what happened in those two states.

I know I'm going to get some heat from this response, but I just can't keep watching all of this accolade shown to the EB without saying some things that I feel.
1. Yay for NTM. For doing the right thing - 20-something years too late?? After being forced into it by ... US - their own mk's?
It has been TWO (very long) years since Kari and I first approached the leadership in NTM about our abuse at Fanda. GRACE was hired by NTM after much pressure was put on them to do so - via our blog. Yay for doing the right thing now? After they realized that the entire world is watching? What else would they be doing, exactly??

2. Originally, it was going to be a couple of representatives from GRACE who would bring the report to Brooks' pastor, etc. I don't know how or why this changed to NTM reps doing it, but it was certainly not originally NTM's idea to do so. So again... Yay NTM?

So yes, perhaps I am judging their hearts. No, not perhaps. Definitely I am judging their hearts. How can I not? So dear Larry Brown shed tears while talking to Diane - who wouldn't?? You would have to be a very calloused person not to feel badly about little children being abused. In your own mission? By people who led devotions and taught bible classes? Of course he's crying! He would be a monster not to.

Thanks for that. Without the Fanda MKs who pushed for this, this would not be happening. Thank you Fanda Eagles for exposing yourselves in order to bring this about . What NTM is now doing has only come about because you pushed for it. Without GRACE's wisdom, it also probably would not be happening - thank you GRACE. But I'm still thankful NTM is doing this now, whether it was their idea or not, and even if they had to be pushed to do it - Fanda Eagles, your efforts have paid off, and the result is bringing about change (good change) and NTM is moving in a better direction due to your help.

I understand what you are saying. Actions or lack thereof (in the inverse) speak louder than words. I think Larry and EB did make a good step. However, when an organization is deep in the hole on making things right it will take a lot of steps and a lot of blood sweat and tears to make things right. Thus, I credit the EB for what they have already done and wait for them to ramp up their efforts and make this number one, not 2,3 or 4th priority. I think NM's big ship should come to a complete stop. Cut the engines. Then reflect on where NTM has been, reconsider NTM's priorities, regroup, reform and then move in a new direction. In other words, come completely clean, change leadership, forcus etc.
