I would say the actions described here are good first steps that demonstrate how serious NTM-USA is taking us and what happened to many of our loved ones. Such concrete steps do demonstrate an attitude of repentance . . . .

There is much remaining to be done, but I commend them for the transparency shown in updating their website to show their actions and for including local law enforcement (civil government) and the churches (ecclesiastical government) in the process. The two, church and civil, ought to work in tandem, where possible.

We'll be watching to see what November holds . . . .

I'm encouraged, though.

This reminds me of a huge, fully loaded, single hull oil tanker in treacherous waters. The captain has suddenly realized that they are steaming full speed for a rocky outcropping and has just started to turn the wheel. Whether they have turned it early enough remains to be seen. Only time will tell if they have avoided a disaster.

Well, Jerry your analogy reminds me of a little incident that took place in 1910 (I think it was). That ship didn't quite make the turn . . . .

Good one. (The Titanic was in 1912.) I was thinking more of the Exxon Valdez (1989).

@ Jerry: to be fair, with the Exxon Valdez the captain was drunk at the time he attempted to avert disaster. Um, well, are there any inebriated board members?

All jocularity aside, I'm curious as to how far NTM-USA goes in investigating the other schools and their tenacity in repentance of those crimes and reporting them to the proper authorities, while doing what NTM can to make public the deeds done.

I suppose we'll see . . . .

It is a good start.

This is very good. I like that they made deadlines as well for when they want to have made certain decisions. It looks like they are open to accountability from others. This is very good.

Thats the way I see it too. Could be a good thing. We will have to wait and see.
