For my MK husband, friends and family. I love you.
10 Ways You Know You Married An MK from Brasil
1. Your spouse allows the kids to play with fire and knives but cowers in fear over caterpillars.
2. No matter where you go in the whole world there is someone within walking distance that was an MK in Brasil and your spouse knows them or their parents.
3. You no longer spell Brasil with a "z".
4. You learned to love the colors blue, yellow and green and probably have a Brasilian flag hanging somewhere in the house...much to your military parents dismay.
5. Soccer games now rank up there with holidays.
6. When the in-laws come home on furlough you drop every activity and cancel all appointments because you just never know if they might stop by on their way to a supporting church of which you know all the names of but have never seen.
7. Your spouse can spot a Brasilian in any crowd, introduce themself and have a new best friend.
8. You've learned how to cook rice and beans, feijoida, brigadeiros, vinagrette, farofa and fried plantains yet you've never actually had a Brasilian teach you how to make them.
9. You know the name and location of every churrascaria (sp?) within a 100 mile radius.
10. When prayer is needed for your family you eventually run into someone you've never met before but they remember your name because it was mentioned at their church by someone in China who received an e-mail from your in-laws in Brasil and passed it along to other missionaries in the states. And you now say "In the states" when referring to your home country.
With much love, A Happy Wife
