I originally thought that NTM contacted all of the Armours supporters when they were dismissed from the mission. But I'm not sure now if NTM did contact them. I happen to know of one big financial supporter of their's who still supports them. I'm not sure how they are funding their ministry. Even if their supporters were told the truth, it's very likely Steve and Sonia were able to talk their way back into gaining their support again. As far as I know, they are working on their own. They have not been with a mission agency since they left NTM. How convenient, now they have no leadership to answer to. I would also like to share the following story although let me say that I heard this 2nd or third hand so I don't know all the details. I don't know why the person who told me this would have any reason to make it up. Also, this totally is in line with how Steve functioned so it's not hard at all for me to believe. The Armours were ministering out of a church down south in Brazil. The leadership approached him about something they wanted him to change. I don't know if this was a sin issue or just a difference in how their ministry should be conducted. The leadership said if he didn't change they would have to dismiss him from their church. Steve did not want to change so the leadership said the following Sunday they would make an announcement in church. Steve asked if he could say a few departing words. So after the announcement, Steve got up to speak but he totally disrespected the leadership and turned on them saying it was their problem. They left that church and started ministering in another church. I know they were in Southern brazil but then I heard they moved to Northern Brazil. I just wonder, what prompted the move? Did they have another disagreement with a church? Did someone confront him on something and they felt they had to leave in order to protect themselves? Do you see why it's not hard for me to believe this story? And do you see how once someone has shown a pattern of deceit in their lives, how can you trust anything they say or do? It scares me so much that Steve seems to act as if he doesn't need to answer to anyone. He can do his own thing without having any accountablity. And that his family is also ok with this. |

It is true that he is still in ministry, but he is not ministering to people first hand. All of his ministry is computer-related through helping in video production & technical expertise. He is not involved in any of the teaching or relationship-based ministry. |
