@ Gene:
I think Ornery would say that there are ppl within the organization of NTM, Inc., that are talking to him, but that the "Corporation" as a whole is not. Is there a dialogue . . .not in any meaningful way, I think, at this point in time. To be fair, were I counsel for the mission, from a purely legal standpoint, I'd likely caution no response until we know what we're dealing with, how big this thing is or has spread. Again, that's from a strictly legal standpoint.
As a para-church organization, the silence from the "Corporation" is deafening . . .and illustrative of the way it's always been. I know from hearing from others that are within, but not complicit, with the organization that there are some who are praying and engaging in the process of change . . .but 70 plus years of indoctrinization does not change overnight, no matter how ugly the truth revealed presents itself.
I know what rankles Ornery is that the NTM, Inc., continues to let at least one named person (in the FANDA report, no less) continue living on "the Land" in Brasil as we called it, in plain view, and in continued contact with young lives. That is unacceptable and is but one thing NTM, Inc., could do right away to show it takes us seriously.
Absent that, as my friend Ornery is wont to say, "A storm is a comin'"!!
