I don't understand. Has Steve Armour conducted a review?

And how could Steve Armour be considered an outsider?

Like what I am seeing here. Would it be possible for you to blast me an email. Would love to hear more about you and what you think of all this.
I kinda hate giving NTM heads up to what is coming to them ;)

Can the students contact the law about David Brooks and ask them to research to make sure it is the right one and then act upon it. 40 students should be able to make the police act

Maybe we could get Steve Armour to conduct yet another outside review? Que tal?

Ornerythornery,

Can you explain this statement in better detail. I think I'm missing some facts here.

New Tribes, I have already copied APTM (the Brazilian Presbyterian Mission) on an e-mail to you, asking you to send a copy of the GRACE report to APTM. In that e-mail, I provided the website (fandaeagles.com).

I figured it out!

Thanks!

No offense, instead of going to a repentance retreat (can we have churrasco?), we need to go downtown with you and your brother Leroy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aB_TM5AvJP0), and sit down and explain everything to the police. Are we scared of the law?

“Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves” (Rom. 13:1-2).

I don't understand why this didn't happen already. What was stopping parents from taking their kids to the police station and filing a report against a Frank Parker, or a Reginaldo Goulart, or one of the other perps?

Is "following New Tribes 'protocol' " that important in instances regarding the safety of our children?

Just saying. Not trying to put blame on any parents, just trying to make sense of this.

And what will going to the police accomplish today? I mean, besides having a report filed so that the mission can never say that they didn't know?

(Sorry, Ornery- I'm not as well versed in law as you are.)

Just trying to understand what we can legally do, and what we SHOULD be doing.

Incidentally, I'm thinking a big part of the future "big picture" for New Tribes (in addition to complete honesty and transparency, repentance) ought to be education: of all their members, of the kids at boarding school, of all staff people at the schools (you know, defining what abuse is, how it happens, who to report it to, legal action, etc.) Certainly, we would EXPECT, going forward, that any perpetrators names be listed on their website with a current address, photo, etc. (Enough of this "we'll resolve it" stuff. We want to see concrete steps taken!)

I, for one, am thinking we should be making these kind of requests/demands of the Mission going forward!

Hurt-n-Hopeful

It is like he is posesed by the Devil himself. The Devil who is trying so hard to keep his nasty hands in NTM. My Facebook family and friends have come to the conclusion that he is either an abusee/abuser/or just off his rocker. I will say one thing, NTM needs to distance themselves from any "supporters" like this, it will only hurt them in the end.

I am hesitant to say, only because it would require me to assume and prejudge NTM members. If push came to shove though I would say you are correct in a majority. I say that because some of our friends on the field got onto my mom when she was posting things on Facebook, like the GRACE report. Their words were something like, "Oh, ___, do you really think you should be posting that on Facebook for everyone to see" Comments like that make me mad and show me that they are more interested in getting this all taken care of "under the table" and out of the eyes of the public. We still are not supposed to have a voice because it may hurt their support and their image. I told one of my friends that the Red Barron sounded too much like an actual NTMer to simply be a suporter of them. He sounds as if he was indoctrinated the same way they/we all were.
