And if you are a person of prayer, please be praying for the Vianopolis MKs. The past few weeks have been incredibly stressful and intense for them, and I am hearing that the pressure is taking its toll on them physically, mentally and emotionally.

To our dear Via MKs: We hold you in our hearts.

Roger Bailey III [sexual abuse (voyeurism)] – ineligible for future NTM service

Was Roger Bailey III a child and peeked in the girls' dorm? Or was he a teenager attracted to the little children or who abused his fellow teenagers?

Maybe they are saying he is ineligible because he is part of a legacy family.

I was surprised to see Roger Bailey's name on the list. I thought that no minors had been involved with his story, but I must have been wrong if somebody saw fit to submit information on him to IHART. I do not know what his status with NTM was at the time, but I do not think he was a student.

No other name surprised me.

I am sickened, but not surprised by august19's post. NTM would throw a bone to victims, slap abusers on the hand, and gloss things over for everyone else, telling them to "Keep moving, nothing to see here."

It is 2014, and this is how they are handling things? How can anyone trust that current and future abuse in NTM will ever be treated any differently? I know they can't go back in time to do things differently, but based on how they are protecting abusers now - I doubt they would if they could.

Raz has a hard copy of my report. I am posting this because I want her to have the freedom to state her impressions of the report for the benefit of others. I trust her and I know she will not relay any identifying information.

I will also assist in relaying details if anyone wants them shared anonymously.

The Good Ol' Boy Network is alive and well.

Truly, but why are these the only two leaders singled out for reprimand? Surely there were others who knew of these issues and also did nothing.

I am very much wondering the same thing, Jerry.

I feel that a LOT more compassion is being shown for these aging mission leaders than was ever shown for the MKs when they were vulnerable children ... or for the same MKs who are now adults.

:(

Dawn Canright (sexual & emotional abuse) – dismissed
Jerry Wnuk (physical & emotional abuse) – dismissed
Bucky Nageli (emotional abuse) – not dismissed (actions not dismissible offense)
...

Perhaps the better question to be asking is were any of these names or the reported abuses any surprise to NTM leadership, or were they already fully aware of the facts and simply chose not to reveal it?

It doesn't say that Roger Bailey III's abuses involved any minors. And since we have no report, we have no idea what the nature of his offense was.

I have to agree with you and Raz, that NTM's handling of this whole thing makes me wonder about their commitment to the protection and safety of children.

And I'm pretty sure that those reports went right into the trash, for as we all well know, there is nothing that US authorities can do about anything that happened overseas. And they're certainly not going to take the word of some unknown mission's investigative team as a basis for any action against citizens who, most likely, have no other strikes against them.

What a pity that the survivors had to go thru reporting their abuse
(And re-living it)
Thinking that this would help reveal the mess to the public
Or in some way take care of it satisfactorily to them.
But now they have to compile their own report!
At least GRACE spared them that.

We will help in any way we can.
