Because of the graphic nature of the reports IHART assures us that "Please make it clear to the survivors that they were the only ones who received their statement of finding. Ex: __________ only received the statement of finding that was theirs, no one else did.

IHART mailed out the packets to the survivors.

So they could still think that they were the only one.
I'm sure at this point, no one does.
Because of this website, for one.
There is no compilation of reports in a general way
That helps survivors and the general public
Know what went on
And how it was handled/not handled.

Another abuse report which could be used as a reference for ideas on how to assemble a report is the one done on the Mamou Alliance Academy (Christian and Missionary Alliance).

Here is a link to that report:

http://www.mksafetynet.net/usa/reports/ ... 201998.pdf

This school was also a small school, and while many MKs recognized who victims were, simply because they had actually witnessed the abuse they suffered, I think it is still an example worth considering.

Some contents of the abuse report can be found under "Vianopolis Abuse Reports" thread. More to come, apparently.

I know this has been confusing. Thank you all for hanging in their with us. We have babies, weddings, hospitalizations, work, conferences all ganging up together! There are a lot of stories out there. And the Via links go on and on. Maybe someone can consolidate these . . .not sure. Meanwhile, if you wrote, and your story is on here somewhere, please feel free to refresh the thread, copy it onto a new place or maybe get someone else to do it for you.

As readers, you are also welcome to pull out links, threads. Just be aware that this forum has been going on since 2010--these are like conversations--what made sense back then, might seem incomprehensible or even stupid, now. :D

One more thing--it's a vulnerable time for Via survivors. If you have contact with anyone from Via, please check in with them, and make sure they're ok.

I don't want to cover for NTM or any abuser.

IHART reported the following abusers:

Frank Parker (sexual, physical & emotional abuse) – deceased

...

Yes, Frank Parker is dead. Let's see what NTM had to say about him, upon his demise:

Frank Sidney Parker August 15, 1940 - March 11, 1996

Frank was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. He completed high school at Bradford Academy and attended the Bible Institute of New England for one year. He faithfully served at the Bible Baptist Church (now called Valley Bible Church) in White River Junction, Vermont. Frank was employed for several years by Putnam's Drug Company prior to his entering NTM Institute in Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania.

After missionary training, Frank and his wife, Joan, were assigned to the field of Brazil. They served there from 1970 until 1994 - just a few months shy of twenty-five years. Due to severe illness, Frank had to return to the United States and was on medical retirement until his death.

He is survived by [names withheld out of respect for the living, not the dead].

A memorial service was held at NTM Homes Chapel in Sanford, Florida, on March 14, 1996.

Frank served on the field of Brazil! Served, note! Served! He only went back because of health problems, and was still a member of the mission when he died. There was no thought at that time that he would be dismissed, the ultimate penalty in NTM-land.

Hi all, Sorry I have been quiet for so long. I will post my thoughts about all of this after my daughter's wedding. Busy time for us. Getting the reports at this time was a little overwhelming to say the least. There were several names on the report that totally shocked me. Others that did not shock me in the least. I haven't said anything because of all the CONFIDENTIAL slapped all over the report. Anyhow, chewing it over and trying to digest it all in the midst of hectic times in our home.

Love, Memories

Memories, Keep this in mind:

And on top of that, there have been some people who have deleted their accounts along with all of their posts (and at least one who has done it several times [OT]), which leaves gaping holes in some threads.
