I agree, where are all the really pissed off NTM men, who are disgusted with this?????

Women of NTM unite, get your man to take a stand on this, don't let him hide behind your skirt!!!!!!!!! Tell him to be a real man and stand up for women and children, tell him to call Larry Brown and say this is not good enough!!!!!!! Tell him that until he is a real man you will not be cooking, cleaning and keeping house for him!!!!!!!! Tell him there will be no marital duties going on and that he had better start taking cold showers!!!!!!!!!!!!
And if he won't take a stand, ask why and keep asking till you find out why!!!!!!! Tell the women around you to do the same, get some action going, don't just sit there playing second fiddle to a broken violin. Because if you don't, who will you blame when it is your child that is raped by the next monster?????? Who will you turn to, not your NTM friends, because they will want you to cover it up or just quietly go home!!!!!!!!!!!
And if you can't do it, because you are too afraid, then you seriously need help and you aren't going to find it singing "We Welcome You".

There would be a lot of cold showering going on. There seems to be a code of silence that would make the mafia proud, or maybe it's just denial.
I do like the sentiment, men of NTM strangely seem to have lost their voices, perhaps their women should start speaking for them and then we might see some action at last.

I find it interesting that whoever gave the tip made sure to give it to American authorities so that he could be arrested when he stepped onto American soil. Verses having it exposed in Brasil to New Tribes and having Warren just dismissed from the mission board and made to leave the field. Something that should have been done to other missionaries. Just sayin.

In my opinion, it would have been much better if this had all been turned over to Brasilian authorities, so that he could have been brought to justice in Brasil, where he actually committed the crimes. I think that serving his sentence in a Brasilian prison would have been far greater justice.

Quite possibly serving a sentence in Brazil would be just deserts for Scott Kennel, but think of how the situation would have panned out:

On his arrest, NTM would have gone into hyper mode. A statement would have been issued something like this:

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The Devil is trying to destroy our work in Brazil. One of our Brothers stands falsely accused of serious crimes. Please pray and donate to free him. Pray that the Brazilian justice system (which is not as good or immune from corruption as here in the U.S.) . . . .

Then there would have been the facebook campaign "Free Scott Kennel" with the bombarding of Brazils sovereign justice system with naïve facebookers.

The U.S. government would not want relations soured between Brazil and the U.S. It is quite possible that the matter was discussed at high level and the course of action was predetermined.

Also take into account President Obamas excellent statement about the punishing of U.S. troops who commit crimes when on duty overseas. This could possibly have something to do why a harsh sentence (and in my opinion appropriate) was handed down.

Imagine if due to public pressure, Scott Kennel was found not guilty in a Brazilian court, he would now be on speaking tours and NTM would be profiting from the sympathy.

ICE got it right in my book. Scott Kennel is locked up and only a very brave or foolish person is going to call that decision wrong.

Remember what happened when Pastor Joe was arrested in the Philippines.

It is a very good point!!!!!!

ICE got it right and saved a lot of embarrassment that the Pastor Joe fiasco caused when naïve saints were manipulated into doing stupid things on face book.
Third world countries don't want the hassle of sorting out our western perverts and why should they?

Bemused is right. If the Brazilian authorities had had to deal with Scott Kennel, NTM would have manipulated the situation, turned him into a martyr and had him promoted to a hero, raking in the cash.

Go ICE, don't stop, there are probably plenty more!!!!!
