Question: Our church supports NT members who formerly served in Senegal and are now serving in the U.S. I don't know if their kids attended Fanda or not. I'm wondering what our church should do to come along side of them at this time. I did send them an e-mail (I'm on the missions committee at our church) and just told them that I was aware of the Fanda report, and was praying for them, because I was sure many they knew were affected. However, I would like to share with the elders in our church about the GRACE report, and to ask them to come alongside this particular missionary couple that we still support, to help them make sense of what they are facing (both emotionally and as active members of NTM). Any suggestions? (That I know of, my church is not aware of any issues with New Tribes). As a Vianopolis MK, I certainly might pull a little more weight than if any "Joe Blow" came up with this to present to the church. Not sure where to start, Hurt-n-Hopeful |

After all the other people in my church closing the door on discussing this, I finally plucked up the courage to e-mail my pastor the link to the "Fear at Fanda" article and a link to this sight and he has invited us to dinner at his place to talk about it. I told him in the e-mail that I feel that every christian organization and church needs to learn from all this and also, we have NTM missionaries in our church. I have no idea how he feels about it all so hopefully he is not having me over to ask me to stop talking Anyway, please pray that I have the right things to say. |

[quote="Naomi Cleaves"]An older x-elder couple I really respect talked to me today and said, "You know what you need to do? You need to shut the door on this and move on!" I feel so ... Discouraged. That is 2 more people on that I can't try to talk to about this when I need someone to talk to. Dear Naomi, I know that feeling. My parents won't talk about it with me because you are supposed to just "put it under the blood and forget it". It's kind of like that lie that , "sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me!" Such a lie. I'm sorry you don't have anyone to talk to. I'm hear to listen if you need to talk. Ruth |

This article was very enlightening, but really bothered me. Some people really don't get it: http://www.rothgerber.com/files/10368_AreProtestantMinistriesaNewMarket.pdf |
