For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. Mark 4:22
We know that what happened at Fanda, Senegal is not uncommon to NTM boarding schools around the world. We welcome your story of abuse here if you want to share with us. While most of us at Fanda were abused in some form what we find especially damaging is the abuse of leadership who chose not to protect us at the time in spite of documented evidence and who have still not repented nor sought justice for us today, 20 years later.

klglovka: All of my encounters with NT members in both Mexico and Colombia (where I was a short-term/long-term missionary) made me very wary of their organization. They seemed almost cult-like in [...]

Welcome to this site, Me Too. If you haven’t clicked on the “Forums” at the top, we’d welcome you to check that out too. Your school and your situation might be listed there. Even if it’s not, we would love to hear your story. We need many more MKs to speak up, so we can receive validation, vindication, and justice!
I just found this site. As a former NTM MK in another country, who was abused and experienced NTM’s attempts at “making things right.” Sucked. I haven’t heard anything for years. I told them my dorm dad molested me and was emotionally abusive. I’ve heard nothing of the outcome. There has been no resolution for me. NTM did their duty and moved on. I’m stuck holding the bag, granted not all of it’s contents from NTM abuse.
John, reading your letter blew me away. Your letter was so loving and real. I felt your love and compassion for your daughter AND your fight for her. I did not get the same from my father. It was touching. I hope your daughter has found some healing.
@Thai Guy
Bless you for being good, caring parents … what happened to your daughter is HORRIBLE! I had a Dad like you and I thank God every day for him!!! He taught me to trust again!
John and Diane, I admire you and fully support you. Abuse of MK’s has happened in virtually ALL of the NTM schools around the world. Has it ever been reported to local authorities? Why not? It is always covered up on the field, then covered up on the home end. You and yours are doing a great service. Shame on all those who betrayed you and your kids.
this was written to fc in ’99? it appears they dropped the ball – i don’t see any documentation that John’s daughter was pursued. this dad made some strong points. any NTM coments in response to this?
i’ll get on board with the hero thing. both of my parents, john and diane mikitson, are amazing people. kari and i have been blessed and lucky to have had their support throughout our whole lives.
Mine too. And I would like to inexpertly quote him right now in saying, “my wife Diane is more than 50% of that letter, we wrote it as a team.”
John Mikitson, you are my hero.
